Grouper

The Grouper bite was on yesterday in the 100 ft range. Several area captains limited out . Dolphin were also  active with captains having multiple catches.Kings were caught in the 70-80 ft range and 2 more were reported at Ocean Crest Pier.

Spanish and blues

A few spanish and blues are being caught  in 30 to 50 ft . Kings are in 65 to 90 ft areas, and hitting jigs and bead bait. Nows the time to get in on the action, come on down and connect with one of the local guides for a adventure.

Fishing status

The offshore bite continues with wahoo , blackfin and a few dolphin mixed in. Kings are being caught in the 65 to 90 ft range. Spanish and blues are on the beach, with reports of larger size spanish slightly down south. Trout, drum with a occasional flounder mixed in.

Bottom fishing

Ran offshore 40 miles Sunday and hit 71 degree water in 95 ft. Caught alot of keeper sea bass jigging and 8-10,30 in kings also while jigging. We didn’t do any trolling  but there was a good weed line nearby .Looks like Tuesday and Wednesday are going to be good calm days. Trask Cunningham caught an 80 plus this week , there were several other boats that were productive offshore with 50’s boated. Weather has allowed a day here and there for offshore trips . Meanwhile inshore the trout and drum bite continues. Also a report of an 18 in flounder caught off a locals dock.

WEEK END REPORT

Trout and redfish were caught at all the normal sports by area fishermen. Meanwhile the offshore bite was hot for some and slow for others, several 80 lb wahoos were gaffed. Devils hole , Steeples and down south were some of the bite areas.

The weather looks great for the weekend. Flat seas on Sunday , with sunshine, what more could you ask for. Kings in 90 ft, seabass and other bottom dwellers in the same depth. Slide on out and try the stream/ break for a hoo or blackfin. Meanwhile the trout and blue bite is on in the backwaters.

Back waters

The trout are still biting , lots of smaller size , but they are getting bigger. Color of choice this weekend was gold flake in clear or gold bodies. Several were caught on mirrolures and DOA’s.

March Madness

Come on down and enjoy the bite going on, then set back and watch your favorite team play basketball at one of our local establishments. Trout are still biting , along with a few reds and flounder.
